About Damian Alexander:
Damian Alexander is a cartoonist & storyteller who grew up around Boston. Other Boys, published by First Second, is a graphic memoir about his childhood experiences with gender norms, being raised by his grandparents in an unconventional family, and coming out. It received starred reviews from Kirkus and Booklist. Damian is currently working on the sequel, Other Families. In his free time he works on Totally Crushed, an ongoing webcomic. He has created illustrations for The Trevor Project, and you can stumble across his short comics & essays on Huffington Post, Narratively, and The Nib. He is a graduate of Simmons College MFA program in Writing for Children, a John Locher Memorial Award winner, and aLambda Literary Fellow.
When Damian is not doodling or making comics he loves gazing into his Victorian dollhouse, watching animated movies, reading comics and ghost stories, all while trying to keep his plants alive. He lives in sunny California with his husband, Kevin, their far-too-fluffy cat, Alfalfa, and their much-too-energetic goldendoodle, Hogarth.
